One would think this is ride a no brainer, but the pathway is a lot like the country roads – lots of intersecting paths and inconsistent signs. To stay on the bike path and not take one off to another village takes a lot of navigation vigilance and luck. We all got lost at various times and had to backtrack. Terry, Don, and I even got on the wrong side of the river and went 4 km before out trail ended and we had to backtrack.
Most of the path is paved, with a lot of twist and turns, so our biking speed is reduced. Because we are going to be averaging 100 km a day (62 miles) we want to keep the speed up, but we have to navigate, and watch out for other bikers and walkers too. I am learning to just slow down and take it all in.
